Why Chinese Medicine?

Meghan is a healer by nature.  She developed a keen interest in studying health, nutrition and natural remedies at the early age of 9.  Her interests expanded by her teens when she began studying psychology, philosophy and also yoga.   Meghan entered college pre-med, knowing that she wanted to be a physician.

During Meghan’s first semester of college, she began experiencing debilitating migraines several times a week.  She managed much of it with diet and a healthy lifestyle, and advanced her studies in herbal medicine.  The following year, Meghan went to an acupuncturist and received a course of treatments along with an herbal regimen.  The headaches stopped entirely.  She was also sleeping better than ever.  Meghan began researching the differences in Western herbalism and Traditional Chinese herbalism, she looked into all of the different modalities of natural healing, and she found that the best, most comprehensive system of natural medicine is Traditional Chinese Medicine.  This is what she wanted to do.  As she began to learn more and more about it, this medicine pulled together all of her interests.  Meghan decided to study Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine when she was 20 years old.  She went on to finish her undergraduate studies of Sociology and Psychology with an emphasis in Natural Healthcare, and then completed a five year Master’s program in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.  She has been treating patients since 2004.
